Healthcare Terminology
Knowing all of the following items is necessary:
Understanding of medical terms, anatomy, and procedures
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
Familiarity with insurance terms like co-pay, deductible, EOB
Computer & Technical Skills
Comfortable using medical billing software and EHR systems
Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
Typing speed and data entry accuracy
Communication & English Language
Clear verbal and written communication
Professional email and phone etiquette
Good English comprehension and grammar
